A Foodie's Guide to Charleston, SC

Spring Rolls Asian Cuisine
Not only do they have amazing spring rolls, their curry is some of the best in town! Be warned though it does have a spicy kick to it but if that isn't your style they also have superb hibachi and stir fried meals.

Fuel Charleston
An old gas station turned killer taco joint, you might recognize this place from the show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. This unique restaurant offers up generous portions and is well known for their braised pork tacos, I personally was even more impressed with their fried plantains which is available as a side item.
Saffron Bakery
Saffron has always been a favorite among my family, although their food wasn't as good as I remember this time around, their baked goods are always sure to please! Pastries vary from day to day but some of my personal favorites are:
-Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake
-Strawberry Tart (or any fruit tart)
-Almond Cake
-Raspberry Marzipan Cake

Sermet's Downtown
Sermet's Downtown(formerly Sermet's Corner) used to be a casual artsy hang out but they turned that in for a more formal white tablecloth atmosphere sometime last year. We fondly remember their delicious grilled salmon salad with poached pears, crumbled gorgonzola, and mango and green apple champagne vinaigrette. They also have an out of this world crab cake sandwich!
